Allison Grenda is a PhD Candidate in the History of Art at the University of Michigan and the 2025 Archaeological Institute of America Olivia James Traveling Fellow. Her research concerns the post-crisis rebuilding of Byzantine cities, with a special focus on the cross-cultural influences that arose in Byzantine urban visual culture after periods of intercultural violence and population displacement.
