Research Topic: Building up the Classical Past: The Politics of Architectural Reconstruction in Modern Greece
Miltiadis Kylindreas is a PhD Candidate at Emory University, specializing in ancient Greek architecture. His dissertation focuses on the intersection of contemporary archaeological investigation of architectural design with politics and the exploitation of the past that generated the reconstruction/anastelosis of ancient monuments in modern Greece. He is also interested in architectural proportions and digital mapping of ancient Greek temples. Miltos is currently a member of the American Excavations Samothrace team, and previously, he worked at the Athenian Agora Excavations since 2012.
